Rosalinda Abuabara has provided voters with clear stances on key issues by responding to the 2020 Political Courage Test.
Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions? |
No | Do you support increasing defense spending?
The U.S. government has neglected the basic needs of its citizens for far too long, wasting countless billions on unnecessary defense spending. It is time to focus our resources on taking care of the American people rather than tending to the violent vestiges of American imperialism. |
Yes | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No | Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth? |
Yes | Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes | Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions? |
Yes | Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
While I do not believe there is a straightforward solution to gun violence, it is obvious that the status quo has become unacceptable, and introducing more guns into our society is most certainly not the answer. The United States must begin to sensibly regulate its domestic arms trade before it can hope to resolve the ongoing crisis of domestic terrorism. |
No | Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
All Americans are entitled to affordable, accessible healthcare options. Healthcare is a human right. The Affordable Care Act was a step in the right direction, and I do not believe it should be repealed. Even so, our healthcare system is still dysfunctional, and it is imperative that we comprehensively expand on what progress we have made in order to secure healthcare coverage for all. |
No | Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No | Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship? |
No | Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes | Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
The U.S. should substantially, if not totally, reduce its interference in Middle Eastern conflicts. The United States cannot police the globe. The U.S. has consistently proven ineffective in mediating complex geopolitical conflicts and standing up for human rights around the world. The heavy-handed, big-stick approach has become obsolete. It is time to abandon senseless fights and redirect our resources to problems within our borders. |
Yes | Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)? |
The key goals for my time in office are comprehensive reforms of our inhumane immigration and healthcare policies. I aim to implement a healthcare system in which coverage is both universally affordable and universally accessible. I aim to treat refugees with compassion and provide viable paths to citizenship. Our nation does have the resources it needs to accomplish such ambitious goals. To fund said reforms, I plan to reform our tax system, increasing government revenue while relieving the excessive tax burden that has been placed on middle and low-income Americans. |
